NEOIA Post Detail
Students in the Community Design class worked in teams to design and build a model of a self-sustaining community for 100 people. Groups research how communities generate energy, grow food, manage water, and support daily life, then apply that knowledge to create a blueprint and scale prototype.
Using renewable resources and interconnected systems, students design solutions that balance human needs with environmental responsibility. The project builds STEM skills, collaboration, and problem-solving. Groups will now present how they designed the interconnected systems that allow their community to operate independently.
